You enter the name of each of your students and you can set it up for them to check out 1, 2, or however many books. You can also set it to where they can only check out certain level books. Most of the books already have the AR information entered which was nice for me, or you can go ahead and enter it if you want. What I really like about it, is that I can keep track of who has my books, so if they go missing they can replace them. I make my parents and students sign this library card at the beginning of the year. They are not allowed to check anything out unless it is signed:

Classroom Library
I do not know about you, but I have a problem with my classroom library books "walking away". I have a huge library of over 600 books. I have tried many ways to keep track of them, binders with the kids names, cards in the back of each book, and even come to me to sign and check them out. None of those methods have seemed to work for me. I came across this website that is my savior when it comes to classroom libraries and I wanted to share it with you. It is called Classroom Book Source. You enter all of your ISBN numbers of your books, yes it took me a few hours to do.... but not too bad, and your kids check them out electronically just like at the real library.

Something else that is nice is that you can run reports on the level that your kids are reading. It is just a great website that has saved me some time and money. Once it is taught to the kids, it is very user friendly. My kids are able to check out books easily and I know where they are. I hope that you find it as useful as I have.
